A Chief Operations Officer (COO) is required for a new manufacturing facility in Datasoft Manufacturing & Assembly Inc. Limited (DMA) at Hi Tech Park at Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City, Kaliakoir, Gazipur.
DMA have been retained to recruit for this fantastic opportunity to set up and run the new facility at Kaliakoir. The business specialize in turnkey solutions for a variety of HiTech products in computers, IOT devices, drones, electric automobiles, cloud configuration, software development consisting of heavy bespoke fabrications and assembly.
The business is going to be a market leader in its field with a large Export client based. The business aims to turnover crores of taka and will employ over hundreds of people. The COO will be responsible for 4 direct reports and 40 indirect reports including skilled and semi-skilled workers.
Working closely with employees, senior managers and directors of the business the COO will be instrumental to delivering projects on time and in full to the high standards of quality the business is built on.
The COO Duties Will Include but not limited to
- Manage operational costs for the facility, working within a defined budget to ensure that customers receive quality products, service, and on time delivery
- Supervising the operation of the facility to ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained in accordance with our QA policies and that all legal specifications are adhered to in line with the Health & Safety policy
- Responsible for leading, measuring and reporting cost reduction / efficiency, and productivity initiatives pertaining to the operation and to stock
- Ensure your department understand and positively contribute to improving the business Service Level Agreements and NPS (Net Promoter Score) performance.
- Control and report on any variance of defined costs in line with an agreed budget
- Lead cost reduction and waste elimination initiatives in the manufacturing & assembly process.
- Organize and maintain efficient and trained staff at a level required to meet customer demand and improve DMA businesses.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Degree qualified or equivalent time served experience in an IT/Engineering/Manufacturing or relevant discipline
- Extensive experience in manufacturing management ideally within bespoke, turnkey and heavy fabrications
- Demonstrable knowledge & experience in lean manufacturing and manufacturing productivity improvements.
- First class planning & organizational skills.
- Awareness of all current & relevant import/export and H&S legislation.
- Knowledge of current quality improvement tools & processes.
- Understanding of profit & loss, balance sheet & cash flow models.
- Mature and customer focused attitude (able to handle difficult discussions and customer complaints).

- Effectively leads department by hiring and retaining top-grade talent.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
- Managed and supervised operations on a daily basis including sales, purchases, resourcing and distribution.
- Directed areas of multiple functions with division directors and department managers.
Assisted CFO in planning and executing the annual budget. - Coordinated with human resources team in forming and training a cross functional department.
- Responsible for driving and delivering sales and profit.
- Coached and developed plant managers and worked closely with them to deliver results.
- Managed and monitored cash in line with company procedures.
